What’s a Barter Garden?

Barter has long been used to prevent the spoilage of local crops during the harvest season.

At EBG, it’s about much more than food...

We also trade ideas, designs, supplies, and services within an expanding community of gardeners, egg farmers, beekeepers, fishermen, photographers, artists, writers, poets, musicians, and a variety of other professions, specialties, and trades.

We actively recycle, re-use and re-purpose the following:

  • Plastic shopping bags
  • Plastic jars with lids (for seed storage)
  • Plastic buckets with handles and lids
  • Rolling plastic garbage totes
  • Planter pots
  • 1″ galvanized pipe and fittings (from chain-link fences)
  • Fabric row cover and bush bags
  • Sunshade fabric
  • Bales of straw (left over from Halloween)
  • Microwave ovens (non-working; for parts for new projects)
  • Projector TVs (also for parts)
  • Blocks, pavers, bricks

With a bit of thought, almost everything can be recycled.
