The largest fruit in the world (up to 76 pounds), jackfruit grows directly from the trunk of the tree. While most large fruits provide fiber with little nutrition, the jackfruit is packed with nutrients and the fiber has no saturated fat or cholesterol! Each fruit contains massive seeds that are also edible. Jackfruit has a unique flavor and a delightful texture. Available in many varieties, each with unique qualities, every part of the tree is useful. The wood of the tree is used to make instruments. The hull of jackfruit can be used to make clothes, paper, and more.
